The infamous pastel colored camera discontinued by Fuji Film.
The bad news about the camera started circulating around the release of Instax mini 9 back in April of 2017.
Both models mini 8 and 9 seemed similar, with just a few improvements on the mini 9.
On the outside the new version sports a selfie mirror, now constant with instax line, change was made in the wrist strap - now it is wider and more massive than its predecessor.
Instax mini 8 was released in November of 2012 and it became a huge part of the internet. The pastel colors and fun design contributed the camera becoming a staple in the life of fashionistas, bloggers, photographers and content creators.
Now the camera plays a role as decoration piece, part of flat lays or stand alone posts.
The pastel colors were in trend 5 years ago. With the micro blogging platform Tumblr, entering its pastel era.
At first the colors of the cameras were muted pastel pink and blue, black and white and a loud yellow.
The pink color of the mini 8 reminds us of the millennial pink (or tumblr pink). According to some people the color was born in February of 2014 with the release of Wes Anderson’s movie The Grand Budapest Hotel (the Hotel is painted several shades of pink) other think the trend was born in 2015 with the release of the rose-gold I phone.
Later the color range was extended with limited edition versions (some of them were called mini 8 plus), and in September of 2014 the company added two more colors to its standard line - raspberry and grape. Two colors that were a bit more vibrant and loud.

The new generation of instax is here now, and weather it be due to color trends change or better features and cheaper production. Fujifilm has decided to discontinue the internet`s instant camera sweetheart and now the end of the mini 8 era is a fact.

Instax mini 70 once more goes under a transformation, this time by the talented hand of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
The collaboration between Instax France Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is unique and interesting new take on the classic instax mini 70, the cameras are on display at Joyce Gallery Paris.
As per usual the only change to the instax is it`s looks. And let me tell you, the camera looks, fun, fantastic and is definitely a conversation starter. There are three cameras in total -Yellow and red, Red and blue, Blue and yellow and you can see them here:
Besides the awesome new color block camera, you can leave the store with an awesome and unique camera bag for your mini 70.
But don`t think the collaboration stops here, the box of the instax also goes under transformation.
And if you are not a fan of the mini 70, you can still snatch a great mini 8 family box from the collaboration.

*The camera colors look a little different due to editing
I really like how detailed this collaboration is. From the camera transformation to the box. Everything is done with attention to every little detail. And if you are not a fan of the mini 70, you can still snatch a great mini 8 family box from the collaboration.

In my opinion this is great collaboration for artistic people and art lovers, since the box itself is a piece of modern day art.

A week or two ago, Fujifilm presented a new Limited edition of our favorite Instax line.
Fujifilm teamed up with the creators to bring the minion Instax, which is one of my most favorite things.
It looks like this:
From what I have seen online on photos. I ca tell that the main color is, of course, yellow. The yellow color is part of the standard color line of Instax, but it seems like this is a bit darker than the standard color, so this is another limited edition color. As you might remember from my post about the new release of Michael Kors x Instax (Click here) - the silver camera color was limited specifically for their collab.
As you can see the mini 8 logo is switched with the minion logo, also a new addition to the camera is the minion below the logo.
Another change to the minion is the black outline on the lens, which is to intensify the feeling of your minion being the closest to the "real" one.
You might wonder how the mini will feel with the blue jeans, well the good news is that you can remove the stand (jeans).
One might thing that they have changed the lens style but this is not true, we are used to the pastel colors of Instax, so seeing a bigger/better contrast between the body and the lens help details pop up.
Another cute detail is the sticker on the back. You can see the real minion questioning the Instax minion which is quiet hilarious.
The camera comes with another edition unique to the collaboration and it is the lens cap.
Don`t dare to think that Instax would leave the box as usual.
The box is also minionified and it is absolutely adorable!

Today i found out that Michael Kors collaborated with Instax to bring another addition to the family.
The new camera is in silver, with Kors`s signature.
I cant find much information on when the item was brought to the market, but i guess it is between 12th of June and 19th of this month. (Mostly likely the release happened on the 12th of June) Since last time i visited there was not a second version.
The previous collaboration between Fujifilm and Michael Kors featured the standard gold camera. The new collaboration includes special silver edition Instax mini 70 camera, exclusive to the Michael Kors version i am not sure if later this year Fujifilm will add the color to the original line.
As you might remember from my post to Instax History (Read here Blank Polaroid - Fujifilm Instax History.) the original colors are 6 - white, yellow, red, blue, black and gold.
This is how the new camera edition looks like:

From what i can gather as information on the good ol` google. It turns out that the camera bag originally came in 7 different colors, and later were added a few more colors.
Another great addition to the line are the gold/silver chains you can buy for you instax, now that the camera is offered in both colors.

There are a few differences between the original instax and the Michael Kors edition, i will start by saying its only exterior difference, nothing has changed as functions or actual working mechanism.
As you can see from the photos o the original instax camera logo has been replaced by Michael Kors`s logo, another change is of course the Michael Kors signature on the back of the camera.

What i love about the collaboration between Michael Kors and Fujifilm instax is the fact that, the product line features various camera accessory.

The original collaboration between the two companies included a really beautiful bag for the camera (sadly as of yesterday i cant find the bag.) that is not a part of the new line.

Next available accessory is the scout camera bag, available in 6 colors, it is nice addition to the mini 70 camera. As i said i like better the camera bag from the original release because it seems to have more space for film opposite to this one which seems to small for the camera.

In conclusion i would say that the instax mini 70 x Michael Kors instant camera is great addition to a fashionista`s arsenal. The camera has great options and is truly a timeless piece.

This one was a lot harder to write than the history of Polaroid, and it is much poorer in information due to the fact that there is not much information about the full range of instax cameras on the fujifilm website and anywhere elese on the internet.
I managed to find a full list of the camera range and i am going to show you the Instax history right now!
Fujifilm mini 8 has turned into a big star in today`s life, you can see many influencers and bloggers as well as celebrities rocking one of them. They are cute, easy and fun to use.
But did you know that in 2000s instant photography was facing difficulties due to the rise of digital photography? But thanks to people who love instant photography we still have instax cameras. In 2015, Fujifilm sold over 5 million units of the instant camera, and its mark continues to grow.
The first camera to premiere from Fujifilm as an instant camera was Instax mini 10 in November of 1998. There is not much information about the camera on the internet but it is considered to be one of Japan`s historical cameras.
it looked a lot like the minis we see today.
A few months later the first instax wides premieres May of 1999. This one as well as the mini 10 dont look much different than their future variations.
Next in the Instax line is 500AF, and by the time the camera is the only fujifilm instant camera with auto focus.
Next instax mini 30 is debuted in May of 2002, and it look quiet like the instax square.
Next generation of minies is the 7 and 7s. They are four years apart but 7s seems to be the more popular one, it is still in production. Both presented in June mini 7 is presented in 2004 and mini 7s is presented in 2008.
Yet another year later Fujifilm debutes its next camera the mini 25.

In November of 2012 Fujifilm releases the mini 8 and it instantly turns into internet favorite with its vibrant colors, it becomes a modern day Polaroid classic and is absolute favorite for all generations, with its easy to use corpus and functionality. Originally comes in 5 colors White,Black, Pink, Yellow and Blues. As of September of 2014 the instax line has two new additions to the family - Grape and Raspberry. (it comes in more limited edition colors, follow my blog to see them)
One year later not done with improvements Fujifilm decided to add another addition to the mini line and this one is the Instax Mini 90, it is considered to be one of the best and most functional cameras in the instant camera world due to its many options. such as selfie mirror, long exposure and other. Another positive for this camera is the vintage design that i absolutely love it comes in two color variations (black and brown) the black looks like this:
In Spring of 2015 another wide instax makes a come back its the wide 300, at first look it doesn`t seem to be much improvement design-wise but there are a few new things added and refined to the camera.
Next is instax mini 70 originally comes in 6 colors Black,Yellow,Red,Gold,White and Blue. In 2016 Fuji film partnered up with Michael Kors to make the camera even more iconic (the camera to be sign by Kors is the Gold one and you can still find it online)
Next in line as of April 2017 is instax mini 9 a bit improved version of the mini 8, mini 9 comes with selfie mirror the camera comes in 5 different colors cobalt blue, ice blue, flamingo pink lime green and smoky white.
the last one to premiere in April 2017 is the instax square, SQ10 brand new hybrid camera of new generation is nothing like the previous instax cameras we all have seen. The new camera has two symmetrical shutters and and is operated via LCD display, you have the opportunity to choose weather you want or not to print automatically as well as going back in your print history and re-printing up to 50 photos back. The camera can let you edit photos and then print them, you can read and find more about it later this year on my blog.
